  4. The Bible (truly great literature)
  5. The Power of Myth and The Hero has a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell
  6. A Walk in the Woods and A Short History of Everything by Bill Bryson
  7. The Davinci Code by Dan Brown
  8. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
  9. Enders Game and Enchantment by Orson Scott Card
  10. Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
  11. Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
  12. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (I love the overlay of the supernatural)
  13. Lost Horizon by James Hilton  (Better than Utopia in describing an ideal society)
  14. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Violent but important consideration of being defined by your actions)
  15. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan   (I enjoy comparing his depictions of the Greek gods with Clash of the Titans)
  16. A Little Princess and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett    (Poor little rich girls discover what really matters)
  17. Little Bear Series and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak    (Amazing illustrations and terrific lessons of love)
  18. Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown    (The language is absolutely musical.)
  19. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
