Ok, so I’ve been saying all along that I felt the story was controlling me instead of the other way around. Well, it happened again just now, and if I weren’t so enthralled with getting it on the page, I’d be a little freaked out.
You may recall the story is about a woman named Megan who has been impressed into service by a mysterious man named Nick. Nick sends her all over the country to meet people who need help and find out what they really need. As such, I have a series of short stories within the framework of the primary story arc. In this last tale within the tale, Megan has gone home to Georgetown and Washington D.C.
The person Meg is helping in Georgetown, Amy? Her ex-husband, Richard, is trying to take full custody of their children by claiming she is an unfit mother. She been through a several lawyers none of whom have been willing to sink their teeth into Richard. I needed to get her together with Dan in Atlanta to solve problems for both of them, but I couldn’t figure out how to get them together. Low and behold, Amy’s husband is serving Meg with a subpoena too in an effort to discredit her for giving testimony that he was cheating on his wife and causing their divorce in the first place. I hadn’t anticipated that turn of events, but the story rolled right into it. Meg was such a help to Dan, that he will eagerly step in to help her with her case. He’ll buzz up to Washington, D.C. and voilà, he’ll get involved in the case and help Amy too.
Don’t ya just love it when a plan comes together?
