My friend, Cathy, sends me lots of cute, interesting things that she finds in the wee, sleepless hours of the night. This one was waiting for me when I got up this morning. Okay, so the Vikings were blood-thirsty marauders who devastated my beloved British Isles, but they were also the inspiration for Beowulf and Lord of the Rings. And remember, I am a romance writer. Surely one well-placed Viking hero who has compassion for the victims and turns his considerable physical abilities to saving instead of destroying would be attractive to a 21st century woman looking for a cause and its hero to embrace passionately.
