Last year, I was talking with a young teacher about my upcoming trip to Norway, and she said, “One day I’ll get there.” That’s when I realized how many of my “One Day’s” I’ve reached. I am so blessed and grateful for my life, and I hope it encourages young people to hang in there. It may seem far away, but stay the course, and you will get to your One Day, too.

One day.
One day, I’ll be a college graduate. Check.
One day, I’ll support myself. Check.
One day, I’ll fall in love. Check.
One day, I’ll get married. Check.
One day, I’ll own my own home. Check.
One day, I’ll have children. Check.
One day, I’ll see my children grow into successful adults. Check.
One day, I’ll still be married. Check.
One day, I’ll get to England. Check.
One day, I’ll get to Ireland. Check.
One day, I’ll get to Italy. Check.
One day, I’ll see Neuschwanstein Castle (Cinderella castle). Check.
One day, I’ll see the fjords. Check.
One day, I’ll write a book. Check.
One day, I’ll write more than one book and prove it’s not just a fluke. Check.
One day, I’ll be a published author. Check.

Still up (because you must always have dreams):
One day, I’ll see both of my sons with people who love them. (Half a Check.)
One day, I’ll be a grandma. (Check in two weeks)
One day, my grandchildren will love to come and visit, and we’ll have tea parties and make chocolate chip cookies.
One day, I’ll live long enough to see my grandchildren get married.
One day, I’ll retire. (Check in four months)
One day, I’ll write full-time.
One day, I’ll live in my dream home with a screened porch where I can sit and write. (Check hopefully by the end of this year.)
One day, I’ll live in happy and healthful retirement with my husband. He’ll play golf, and I’ll write books.

Did I mention that One Day I’ll be retired and write full-time sitting on my screened porch while my husband very happily plays golf?

And if I can fit it in somewhere:
One day, I’ll see the Northern Lights.
One day, I’ll see Middle Earth (New Zealand).
