A Contract for Nick

How appropriate that this is my 200th post since I started blogging as a frustrated, unpublished writer. I got a contract for my Christmas book, Nick!  Gilded Dragonfly Books has taken it on, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to work with them.

Nick is the story of Megan, a young woman who is travelling the world to run away from a terrible, humiliating experience.  She is at the ultimate point of despair when her life is saved by a mysterious hooded stranger.  Ultimately he kidnaps her to save her from herself and takes her to a place where people devote their lives to helping others.  From this place he sends her on a mission: visit five people who have been flagged as having a desperate need for help and check out their situations.

In doing her job she meets Lyda, an artist in the Smokies; Ophelia, a nursing home aide in New York; Eddie, a boy bearing the heavy responsibility of caring for two younger sisters alone; Dan, an Atlanta lawyer who is missing his life; and finally Amy Roberts whose desperate need to keep custody of her children takes Megan home.

She then reports back to her mystery man, who’s name is Nick, and he determines the best way to help.  Their work must be done at Christmastime because that is the only time when people do not question the sudden appearance of random gifts and acts of kindness.  Along the way she learns the true meaning of love, family, and friendship, and comes to understand that her transgression was not so unforgivable as she thinks.

So there you have it, a sister book for Soul Lost.  I hope everyone enjoys the story!
